Blue Jays in the Wild: Kevin Pillar Spotted at the Raptors Game

In the Toronto Blue Jays handbook, there must be some sort of unwritten rule which requires at least one member of the roster to make an appearance at a Raptors game during the offseason.

Last year, it Jose Bautista who was an assistant coach at the NBA All-Star Game, Marcus Stroman made an appearance earlier this season, and even Adam Lind and Jesse Carlson once took in some hoops at the ACC.

Kevin Pillar was the latest Blue Jay to make the pilgrimage north to sit courtside and check out the Toronto Raptors in action.

Sportsnet’s Brad Fay caught up with Kevin Pillar courtside, and it turns out that basketball was actually Pillar’s first love, not baseball:

“Basketball is definitely my first love – it’s my favourite sport to watch, still. I grew up a Laker fan.”

Growing up in California, Kevin Pillar had the pick of the litter of any number of NBA franchises.

You may have also noticed that Pillar was sporting one of Marcus Stroman’s HDMH caps.
