For years, many within the Toronto Blue Jays organization are familiar with Daniel Norris’ story. But only recently have many from outside of the organization and south of the border begun to take notice of one of the Blue Jays most promising young prospects.
Norris has especially drawn attention due to his unorthodox offseason living quarters, his VW van aptly named “Shaggy”. In fact, just this morning he had a feature on NBC’s “The Today Show”.
While short in duration, the feature gives a very interesting glimpse into the lifestyle that Daniel Norris undergoes during the winter months. Many from the outside looking in would wonder why a millionaire baseball player would opt to live in a van for months on end, but Norris says it helps him focus on his job at hand.
“When I can simplify outside the fair and foul lines, there’s so much less to think about off the field, and all my focus is put onto baseball.”
And this feature from The Today Show also revealed that Daniel Norris occasionally goes by the moniker “Dino” or “D-No” … who knew? Video/screencap courtesy of The Today Show
