Yes, There’s a Mock Troy Tulowitzki Pitcher Baseball Card Already

Stop me if this has happened to you; you meet somebody, chat with them for a while, and over the course of that conversation, that person mistakenly refers to you as something else. It could be a simple mispronunciation or a completely different name altogether.

You decide to just go with it because it would be more awkward to interrupt that person and correct them. So, you soldier on with your new moniker and perhaps even question your own existence in the process. “Wait, maybe my name IS Todd and NOT Troy”.

Troy Tulowitzki endured a similar situation yesterday during photo day for the Blue Jays. Hazel Mae and others caught the exchange; Tulo was photographed as a pitcher and like any polite person, he just went with it.

The photographer may or may not have been in on the joke, but it was all in good fun regardless.

The Athletic’s John Lott tweeted this, but in less than 24 hours, there’s already a mockup of what could be an ultra-rare Tulowitzki pitcher Topps baseball card. It comes via ToppsNorth on Instagram, a Topps collector with an affinity for the Blue Jays.

No official word from Topps whether they’re considering minting that mistake onto an official card, but they probably should. Who wouldn’t want to add a Tulo pitcher card to their collection?

It looks like the Blue Jays may have found that right-handed reliever they were looking for.
