Josh Donaldson Puts on Another Clinic on MLB Network: ‘I Have a Passion for Hitting’

Not only is Josh Donaldson one of the best hitters in the game, he also might be one of the most innovative and cerebral hitters in baseball. The Bringer of Rain is also the Dropper of Knowledge.

Donaldson is a true baseball rat – always talking game, always looking for ways to be better. But his MVP-calibre skills didn’t come naturally; it wasn’t until Josh Donaldson reached rock bottom that he realized just how powerful he could become.

His tale is a fascinating one, one which Donaldson shared with Mark DeRosa in this segment which aired earlier today on MLB Network’s MLB Central.

It’s a full ten minutes, but well-worth the watch. Much like Donaldson’s interview on 60 Minutes, it gives you a deeper glimpse into the person Donaldson really is. Plus, JD provides another must-see in-depth hitting clinic.

Once Donaldson’s playing days are over, he definitely has a future as a hitting coach. The way he explains his approach at the plate is unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. The fact that he’s passing this knowledge onto his teammates can only do wonder for the Blue Jays.

Hat tip to MLB Network and MLB Central for the video.
