VIDEO: Kevin Pillar Plays Target Practice From the Outfield

By now, most people are aware that Kevin Pillar is an incredible outfielder. The man responsible for numerous highlight reel catches in 2015 certainly is worthy if his “Superman” moniker.

But did you know Kevin Pillar has a pretty decent arm as well?

Pillar puts his throwing skills on display in this latest video from Sport Chek in which they test pro athletes by asking them to hit moving targets with drones. And it looks like KP passed with flying colours.

Watch as Pillar takes aim at a few stationary targets, and then for his finale … nails a flying drone target with one of his throws.

Personally, I would’ve loved to see someone like Jose Bautista take on this challenge with his cannon of an arm, but Kevin Pillar surprisingly led the Blue Jays in outfield assists with 10 last season. In fact, Pillar was tied for 10th in MLB in 2015 for assists among all outfielders.

It would be cool to see something like this in the All-Star Game in a few years; rather than just having the Home Run Derby, include a competition where outfielders have to hit stationary and moving targets with throws from the outfield.
