VIDEO: “We’re Loving our Blue Jays” – A Remake of the 1993 Blue Jays Coca-Cola Commercial

I’m surprised somebody hasn’t done this sooner … but at long last, we have a remake of the 1993 Blue Jays Coca-Cola commercial.

Michael Tobin on Youtube crafted this excellent homage to the early 90’s classic, “We’re Loving our Blue Jays”. The vocals are on-point, and notice how the singer really puts the Buck Martinez-patented emphasis on “Encarnacion”.

This could very well be adopted as the Blue Jays new anthem this season.

Commercials and songs like these really open the memory floodgates from 1992 and 1993. I remember when the original Blue Jays Coke commercial aired immediately following their World Series win and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.

It seems like that magic has not lost its lustre even after 22 years.

Ian has been writing about the Toronto Blue Jays since 2007. He enjoyed the tail-end of the Roy Halladay era and vividly remembers the Alex Rodriguez "mine" incident. He'll also retell the story of Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS to his kids for the next 20 years.
