The 2015 Toronto Blue Jays Holiday Gift Guide

Ask any Blue Jays fan and they’ll probably tell you the team’s magical 2015 season was gift enough. The Jays came up just short of a berth in the World Series, but ending a 22-year playoff drought was already at the top of many a fan’s list.

But since that’s been crossed off the list, it’s time to scale a little further down those most-requested items for Blue Jays fans. So if you’re stuck for a few ideas for the Jays fan, here’s a Blue Jays Holiday Gift Guide with some unique and interesting gifts.

The Ugly Blue Jays Christmas Sweaters ($49.99 USD)

Fresh Brewed Tees

By now, you’ve surely seen the ugly Christmas sweaters by Fresh Breed Tees which feature Jose Bautista, Josh Donaldson, Marcus Stroman, and now … even Troy Tulowitzki.

Although they’re called “ugly Christmas sweaters”, each are adorned with a clever design. While they may not be “sweaters” per se, if someone unwraps one of these on Christmas morning, that’s the last thing they’ll care about.

Blue Jays Iconic Moments Prints ($21.15 CAD)

NeonRevDesigns

What better way to commemorate the three biggest home runs in Blue Jays history than with these timeless prints? They’re courtesy of NeonRevDesigns and are available in 8 x 10 and 11 x 17 inch sizes and come in blue or white background.

They’re worth it for the Jose Bautista bat flip graphic alone, but the Robbie Alomar and Joe Carter prints round out the perfect trifecta of Blue Jays-themed art.

Blue Jays Custom Bathrobe ($189.99 US)

SportRobe.com

David Price officially made it cool to wear blue bathrobes this summer when he took it upon himself to buy bathrobes for the entire Blue Jays roster. It was his way of reaching out to his new teammates, and they surely appreciated the offer.

Admittedly, the price may be a little steep for these custom robes, but that’s the neat thing about them; they can be fashioned with the Blue Jays logo and whichever player and number you choose on the back in the Blue Jays

Hopefully, nobody bought one that said “Price”.

Blue Jays Books – “A Season to Remember” and “Canada’s Team” ($20.00 CAD)

Chapters/Indigo

Let’s be honest; it’s the offseason and that means a lot of downtime for Jays fans. Probably a little too much downtime. Well, the winter months are the ideal time to finally catch up on all that reading.

This year, there are a few new Toronto Blue Jays books on shelves that chronicled the Jays’ magical 2015 run. First, there’s the Toronto Star’s “A Season to Remember”, and secondly there’s “Canada’s Team”; both available now for $20 dollars.

These books document the roller coaster season which was the 2015 season for the Toronto Blue Jays and include lots of full colour photos. And I won’t spoil it, but there’s a juicy quote from Russell Martin in the “Season to Remember” book.

Blue Jays Pen with Rogers Centre Dirt Inside ($19.99 USD)

MLB.com Shop

With rumours of an all-dirt infield on the horizon, this actually might be more of a collector’s item than initially thought.

This pen not only has the Toronto Blue Jays insignia, but in the top of the barrel of the pen, they’ve somehow managed to get particles of dirt inside the pen. I guess $20 dollars is a fairly low price to pay for dirt when it’s readily available everywhere.

Blue Jays Starter Jacket ($82.49 CAD)

Sport Chek

Do you know someone who always wanted to sport the Cito Gaston-esque Jays jacket, yet prefers the new logo? Well, now there’s a brand new iteration of the manager’s jacket once made famous by Cito himself.

Blue Jays Baseball Card Coasters ($28.22 CAD)

Etsy

For my money, the late 80’s versions of the Blue Jays’ Topps baseball cards are among the best designs you’ll ever find. Their simple yet classic look make them look timeless even to this day.

Want something even more timeless? How about turning those baseball cards into coasters? The wood grain on the side is an interesting touch, but it somehow ties into the retro look of these Blue Jays cards.

Blue Jays Star Wars Mug ($13.99 USD)

MLB.com Shop

2015 was a big year if you were a fan of both the Blue Jays and Star Wars. I’m not entirely sure I understand the connection here between the two, but they’ve managed to make a Blue Jays Star Wars coffee mug.

I was initially confused by the “Let Toronto Win” phrase on the mug, but apparently it’s a meme from the original Star Wars film. However, it kind of goes against the spirit of competition; “letting” someone win indicates the other team is superior.

Nobody “let” the Blue Jays win this year; they did that all on their own.

Ian Hunter

Ian has been writing about the Toronto Blue Jays since 2007. He enjoyed the tail-end of the Roy Halladay era and vividly remembers the Alex Rodriguez "mine" incident. He'll also retell the story of Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS to his kids for the next 20 years.

Please note that if you order one of those sweaters now, they will not be here for Christmas. I ordered the Bringer of Reindeer Nov 26, it was only shipped Dec 9, and I still haven't received it.

Yep. Same here. Ordered sweater Nov. 25th and I have yet to receive it. The company is not responding to my inquiries either.

Did they send you an email that you order's been shipped? If they did, there is a link in that email that helps you track your order. I know mine has cleared customs, so it should be here soon hopefully.

Yes, it has been 'stuck' at the Chicago sorting center since Dec. 8th. Called USPS and the guy said it must be stuck in customs and there was nothing he could do for me.
